Phase One of the Glen Todd Disp. on F-T Digital Closes

Phase one of the Glen Todd Dispersal closed Tuesday, May 3, with total receipts of $1,197,500. Pegasus Training Center offered the 31 horses cataloged on behalf of the Estate of Glen Todd. All hips—which included horses of racing age, 2-year-olds in training, and yearlings—were offered without reserve.

Adiva (Hip 1), a 2-year-old daughter of Street Sense  , sold for $200,000 to NJP Racing to top the sale. The unraced filly has been working up to two furlongs at Pegasus Training Center. Adiva is the second foal out of Black Diamond Girl, by Hard Spun  , a half sister to graded stakes winner Big Truck  and stakes winners Logic Way , Marketway , and Be a Ginny .

The sale's second-highest price came in the form of Princess of Cairo  (Hip 16), a multiple stakes winner purchased for $115,000 by NJP Racing. A 4-year-old daughter of Cairo Prince  , Princess of Cairo was offered as a racing/broodmare prospect. The dark bay or brown filly has nine wins or placings in 13 starts to date, including victories in the Washington Oaks at 3 and the Emerald Distaff Handicap last year at 4.

British Columbia Derby (G3) winner Five Star General  (Hip 10) rounded out the top three prices when sold for $110,000 to Kenny Alhadeff (Elttaes Stable). Offered as a racing prospect, the 6-year-old Distorted Humor stallion was a stakes winner at 2, a graded stakes winner and multiple stakes winner at 3, and graded stakes placed at 4 and 5.

"We are very appreciative of Glen Todd's family for entrusting Fasig-Tipton Digital with this piece of their father's legacy," said Fasig-Tipton director of digital sales Leif Aaron. We were able to move quickly to get a lot of horses sold in a short amount of time with a very strong result. Mike Puhich of Pegasus Training Center did a great job helping to facilitate the sale. It was a win for all parties."

Overall, 31 horses sold for gross receipts of $1,197,500, good for an average of $38,629, and a median of $24,000. Registered bidders numbered 250. Eight horses sold for $50,000 or more. Total bids cast were 1,305, with each horse receiving an average of 42 bids.
