With the Kentucky Derby under two weeks away, social media is often the best way to keep up with all the fast-paced action. Here are some great Instagram accounts to help you keep on top of things and wow you with fantastic horse racing images!
Kentucky Derby- @KentuckyDerby
The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports; need I say more?!
America’s Best Racing- @AmericasBestRacing
We love Instagram and we love sharing all aspects of racing (the horses, jockeys, fashion, guests, parties and more) with YOU, our followers. Don’t forget, if you use the hashtags #AmericasBestRacing and #AmericasBestFashion on your Instagram posts, they could show up on our site!
Daily Racing Form- @dailyracingform
Not only can you count on the Daily Racing Form for past performances and handicapping, but they have some of the best photographers in the game and always share awesome pictures on their feed.
Eric Kalet- @erickalet
Eric Kalet is a sports photographer for The Paulick Report and Eclipse Sportswire. His feed is one of my favorites in Thoroughbred racing – he shares everything from racing action, trackside fun, behind the scenes and more. Bonus: Muppet Count von Count often makes appearances, on horseback nonetheless, in his pictures – yes, the Count goes to more races than most!
Claire Novak- @traveling_lass
Award-winning online features editor for The Blood-Horse, Claire Novak posted some of my favorite behind-the-scenes photos during last year’s Triple Crown season. I'm sure her Kentucky Derby coverage will be nothing but marvelous.
Jill Byrne- @jillrbyrne
Jill Byrne is the Director of On-Air Communications and official handicapper at Churchill Downs.
Acacia Courtney- @MissCT2014
My fabulous friend and ABR guest blogger, Acacia Courtney, will be in Louisville for Derby week and that girl is a social media devotee – she’ll be working and enjoying the races so I know she’ll have some great fashion, behind-the-scenes and celebrity Instas.
Churchill Downs- @churchilldowns
As home of the Kentucky Derby, Churchill Downs’ feed will most definitely be full of excitement, fashion, competition and all things Derby!
While the Kentucky Derby is run at Churchill, there is plenty of Derby fun to be had at other tracks – here are the ones you can typically find my fellow ambassadors and I at during Triple Crown season:
Gulfstream Park- @gulfstreampark
NYRA (Belmont Park, Saratoga and/or Aqueduct)- @thenyra
Santa Anita Park- @santaanitapark
