Kentucky invader Ocean Road shipped in and stole the show in the May 30 $400,000 Gamely Stakes (G1T) at Santa Anita Park.
The 4-year-old daughter of Australia trailed the field for most of the way before sweeping widest of all around the turn under Umberto Rispoli, rallying strongly to get up over race favorites Going to Vegas and Going Global in the final strides.
Racing with the colors of Qatar Racing, Ocean Road ($12.20) entered the Gamely off an April 15 allowance optional claiming victory at Keeneland for trainer Brendan Walsh.
