Fasig-Tipton is accepting nominations for its July Selected Horses of All Ages Sale, to be held July 11 in Lexington. The sale will precede Fasig-Tipton's July Selected Yearling Sale being held July 12.

Introduced as a horses of racing age session, this segment of the July sale has been expanded to include breeding stock.

"Last year, we conducted a dispersal in July which allowed us to open up the sale to additional breeding stock," said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning Jr. "Offering summer breeding stock was positively received by buyers, and that success prompted us to make this a permanent July fixture to complement our strong horses of racing age market."

July Selected Horses of All Ages will be open to horses of racing age, broodmares, broodmares with foal at foot, and broodmare prospects.

The top-priced racehorse in 2021 was stakes winner and graded-stakes placed Front Run the Fed , who sold for $440,000. Nearly 20% of horses of racing age sold in 2021 went for six figures. Selected horses of racing age have sold as high $1,075,000, with an overall sale average and median up to $105,800 and $56,000, respectively.

Last year's July breeding stock session was topped by Jeweled Princess , who sold for $225,000 carrying her first foal by Gun Runner  . Broodmare prospects sold for as much as $175,000 and mares with foals at their side up to $135,000.
