Rosario Wins No. 2,000 at Keeneland

Joel Rosario put a milestone behind him early April 23 at Keeneland, then kept on adding to his total.
The 30-year-old jockey from the Dominican Republic reached 2,000 wins Thursday with his first mount of the day at the Kentucky track, a come-from-behind victory with Sante Cellars Racing Club's Dating Lady Luck in a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight event over the Keeneland turf .
"It's special, because a lot of people don't really make it," Rosario said. "I'm just glad it happened to me."
The 3-year-old filly by Arch rallied from seventh in the field of 10 to win by three-quarters of a length in her third maiden special weight try for trainer Albert Stall Jr.
"It was a very good trip," Rosario said. "I thought we'd be a little closer, but she was happy where she was a little farther behind and she came with a late run."
The jockey then added 2,001 and 2,002 in the next two races at Keeneland, riding Tale of Verve and Mighty Moon to wins in two other maiden special weight races.
