

Nick Alexander's homebred Becca Taylor improved her record to eight wins from nine starts June 4 when she sailed past her rivals to win the Desert Stormer Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita Park.
The 4-year-old filly broke well and traveled smoothly next to Dance to the Music through fractions of :21.95 and :43.85 until moving up at the five-eighths pole in :56.17 and shifting into the lead.
Under Juan Hernandez, the daughter of Old Topper finished 2 1/2 lengths ahead of her rivals in a final time of 1:09.35 to take the six-furlong event over three female rivals on a fast track. She paid $3.20 to win.

Samurai Charm came in third and Dynasty of Her Own was fourth.
The Desert Stormer was the Steven Miyadi trainee's first win in graded stakes company. She had previously defeated California-breds in the 2021 Evening Jewel Stakes and the Feb. 21 Spring Fever Stakes, both at Santa Anita.
Bred in California, Becca Taylor is out of the General Meeting mare Lady Sax , who previously produced Hail Mary , a full sister to Becca Taylor who won the 2013 Warren's Thoroughbreds Stakes.
Later on Saturday, Doubledown Stables' War At Sea held off Cabo Spirit to win the $100,000 Cinema Stakes for 3-year-olds on turf. The Ron Ellis trainee completed 1 1/8 miles in 1:49.97 under Hall of Famer Mike Smith.
