Japanese freshman sire, multiple New York champion, and multiple grade 1 winner Mind Your Biscuits  sired his first winner June 1 when his son Bright Color won his debut in a five-furlong maiden race at Mombetsu Racecourse.

Bred by Maple V. Alliance and raised on Orion Farm, Bright Color prevailed on a muddy track over nine challengers and banked ¥2.2 million ($17,094) for the win.

Bright Color is out of the grade 3 winner Bright Abundance, a Gainesborough Farm homebred who was initially raced by Sheikh Mohammed and later campaigned by Jon and Sarah Kelly. She retired with a 6-6-2 record from 28 starts and earned $379,166. After producing three foals, Bright Abundance was sold to Masa Otani for $140,000 at the 2010 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale out of the Brookdale Sales Agency consignment.

The mare has now produced six winners from seven starters who have collectively earned US$1,061,327. Bright Color is her last reported foal.

Mind Your Biscuits is a 9-year-old son of Posse . He became a grade 1 winner at 3 in the Malibu Stakes (G1). He went on to win the Dubai Golden Shaheen Sponsored by Gulf News (G1) twice in 2017-18 and also won the Belmont Sprint Championship Stakes (G2), and Lukas Classic Stakes (G3). He retired with $4,279,566 in earnings before being sold to Shadai Stallion Station in 2019 for stud duty.
