Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I) winner Stellar Wind, prepping for the $1 million Longines Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) May 1, worked six furlongs April 24 in 1:12 4/5 at Santa Anita Park for John Sadler, who trains the daughter of two-time Horse of the Year Curlin for Hronis Racing.
"Awesome," said her regular rider, Victor Espinoza, who was aboard for the drill. "She went really good today. Last time she worked good, but this time she was amazing, exactly what John wanted. She's ready to go."
A winner in her second maiden special weight try at Laurel Park in December, the Virginia-bred filly has enjoyed the Southern California sunshine in two impressive graded-stakes victories at Santa Anita—the Santa Ysabel (gr. II) in February and the Santa Anita Oaks April 4.
