Rose Girl breaks her maiden at Los Alamitos Race Course

Harris Farms' freshman sire and graded-placed stakes winner Conquest Farenheit   sired his first winner when his daughter Rose Girl  prevailed at Los Alamitos Race Course in her second start June 26.

Bred by Craig Martin in California out of the stakes-placed Swiss Yodeler daughter Swissarella , Rose Girl was sold by Lovacres Ranch at this year's California Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Winter Mixed Sale for $25,000 to Tari Brocklebank. The filly wound up racing for owner Dan Northrup and is trained by Luis Menez.

Rose Girl was unplaced in her debut June 3 at Santa Anita Park but was more focus at Los Alamitos, where she broke sharply and was in contention early. She prevailed three-quarters of a length in a final time of :58.02.

Swissarella is the most successful runner out of the Doneraile Court winner Donerella. She has a yearling colt by Stay Thirsty   and produced a filly this year by Ez Effort .

Conquest Farenheit is an 8-year-old son of Scat Daddy who won his debut at 2 at Woodbine and followed with a second in the Summer Stakes (G2T). He went on to win to win two stakes at 3 and fourth in the American Turf Stakes Presented by Ram Trucks (G2T). He retired with a 3-2-1 record from seven starts and earned $187,655.
