A New York Racing Association official confirmed July 3 that Cindy Hutter, an exercise rider and the wife of trainer George Weaver, was injured in a training accident on the Oklahoma Training Track at Saratoga Race Course. She was transported Sunday to Albany Medical Center, where she was in stable condition, the NYRA official said.

Hutter was galloping a 3-year-old filly trained by Weaver named Vindatude  when the filly collapsed and expired.

Kathy Taylor and her husband, Norman Haferkamp, were watching the horses train Sunday morning and said they saw the fall.

Taylor said Vindatude was traveling at a high rate of speed and in falling, "went straight down right on top of (Hutter).

"It's terrible to watch something like that and to not be able to do anything about it... She was so far underneath the horse that we couldn't even see her."

Taylor said a rider who was on a horse training on the track dismounted and attempted to help Hutter until an ambulance arrived and was able to extract Hutter from under the horse.
