Interstatedaydream wins the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico Race Course

After winning the $250,000 George E. Mitchell Black-Eyed Susan Stakes (G2) May 20 at Pimlico Race Course, Interstatedaydream  will look to replicate that success in the July 9 Indiana Oaks (G3) at Horseshoe Indianapolis

The 3-year-old filly has had a noteworthy career, winning at first asking last year at Belmont Park. In her next start she was runner-up in the Adirondack Stakes (G2) at Saratoga Race Course. She finished third in the April 8 Central Bank Ashland Stakes (G1) at Keeneland after stepping down to win an allowance optional claimer March 13 at Oaklawn Park

Trained by Brad Cox, the daughter of Classic Empire   is 3-for-5 lifetime with earnings of $351,225 and is the only horse in the Indiana Oaks field of eight to have a win in graded stakes company.

Bred in Ontario by William Graham, she is owned by Flurry Racing Stable.

She has traded hands multiple times; first at the 2020 Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale, going to Rascal Bloodstock for $105,000 from the Eaton Sales consignment. Back at Keeneland later that year for the September Yearling Sale, she went to Lehigh Bloodstock for $130,000 from the Paramount Sales consignment. She was purchased by her current owner at the 2021 Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training for $175,000 from the Wavertree Stables consignment.

Another contender in the Indiana Oaks is Brendan Walsh trainee North County , who arrives with a victory in the 2021 Untapable Stakes under her belt.

The filly, who was bred in Kentucky by Shadow Pond Stable, moved up in class gradually and saw a start in graded stakes company on fourth asking in the Feb. 19 Rachel Alexandra Stakes Presented by Fasig-Tipton (G2), where she placed seventh. Last out she was fourth in the April 2 Bourbonette Oaks.

The daughter of Not This Time   is owned in partnership by Rebecca Hillen, Stonecrest Farm, and Bruno De Julio. She has been through the sales ring twice, initially in the 2020 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearling Sale where she went for $45,000 to Grove Stud from the War Horse Place consignment. She was purchased by Walsh at the 2021 Arqana Deauville 2-Year-Old Breeze-Up Sale for $148,525 from the Grove Stud consignment.

Other entrants include Thomas Amoss trainee Sixtythreecaliber , who has two wins at Horseshoe Indianapolis, breaking her maiden there April 27 and winning an allowance race June 11, and Juddmonte's Patna , who is 2-for-3 for Cox.
