Baaeed Leads Flightline, Nature Strip in World Rankings

Baaeed defeats Real World in the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot Racecourse

Flightline  is the top-ranked dirt horse but a joint second overall in the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings released July 14, trailing British-based 8-for-8 turf horse Baaeed .

The latter, owned by Shadwell Estate and trained by William Haggas, improved his rating from 125 to 128 after winning the Queen Anne Stakes (G1) at Royal Ascot. The Sea The Stars  4-year-old has won four top-level stakes over his career, including the Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes (G1) in May in his season debut.

Also rising following a Royal Ascot performance was turf sprinter Nature Strip , who traveled from his native Australia to conquer the King's Stand Stakes (G1) for trainer Chris Waller and owners R. Lyons, P. Harrison, and P. Kean et al. He is tied for second place in the World's Best Racing Horse Rankings with Hill 'n' Dale Metropolitan Handicap (G1) winner Flightline, both rated at 126.

Flightline, trained by John Sadler, races for Hronis Racing, Siena Farm, Summer Wind Equine, West Point Thoroughbreds, and Woodford Racing.

Other top-ranked American-trained runners include Life Is Good  (tied for fourth, 124), Jack Christopher  (tied for sixth, 123), and Speaker's Corner  (tied for sixth, 123).
