Three Diamonds Farm's Field Pass became the newest member of the millionaires' club when he was awarded the victory in the July 16 $300,000 Texas Turf Classic Stakes at Lone Star Park. Although he crossed the wire a neck behind fellow Mike Maker trainee Megacity , the stewards placed Field Pass in first after Megacity impeded the 5-year-old son of Lemon Drop Kid during the final furlong.

Field Pass became the Turf Classic's 4-5 favorite after the scratch of Cellist . He settled third early while Megacity ticked through a :24.10 opening quarter, :48.13 half-mile, and six furlongs in 1:11.23 alone on the front end. Javier Castellano angled Field Pass two wide into the stretch and he tore after Megacity, losing his momentum slightly at the eighth pole when Megacity drifted into his path.
Megacity, owned by Michael Dubb, was moved down to second, with U S Navy Cross completing the trifecta.
The time for 1 1/8 miles on a firm course was a sharp 1:47.61.
A $37,000 buy at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Eastern Fall Yearling Sale, Field Pass recorded his eighth black-type stakes win and boosted his earnings to $1,142,696. Bred in Maryland by Mark Brown Grier, he is out of the winning Runaway Groom mare Only Me.
