Search Results wins Ruffian at Belmont Park
Trainer Chad Brown has called an audible with Klaravich Stables' Search Results . The 4-year-old filly, who was nominated to run in the $200,000 Shuvee (G2) at Saratoga Race Course July 24, instead will head for the Jersey Shore.
Brown said July 17 that the daughter of Flatter will run in the $400,000 Molly Pitcher (G3) at Monmouth Park July 23.
The Molly Pitcher is run at 1 1/16 miles; the Shuvee is 1⅛ miles.
"The distance ultimately decided it," Brown said. "Go for $400,000 rather than $200,000 and going against Malathaat and Clairiere (in the Shuvee) going her maximum distance of 1⅛ miles. It didn't make any sense to me to come up here, and I love running at Saratoga."
Search Results has been training at Belmont Park. In nine career starts, she has never missed the board. In her last race, she was third in the Ogden Phipps Stakes (G1) at Belmont.
