My Happiness strides out while breaking her maiden at Prairie Meadows

My Happiness  proved much the best in her second career start July 22 at Prairie Meadows, winning an Iowa-bred maiden special weight event by six lengths and becoming the first North American winner for her sire Bee Jersey  , who stands at Darby Dan Farm.

Ridden by Alex Canchari, My Happiness tracked third third early in the 4 1/2-furlong test. She engaged the pacesetters entering the far turn, shook loose at the head of the lane, and pulled away. A homebred for Christine Hicklin Mamakos, who also trains the filly, My Happiness was produced from the Yonaguska mare Mayfield Road .

She was timed in :53.64 for the distance, returning $4 to win after a second upon debut July 1.

Bee Jersey, winner of the 2018 Runhappy Metropolitan Handicap (G1) and Steve Sexton Mile Stakes (G3), won five of 10 starts in his career and banked $976,293. In the Metropolitan, he stopped the clock for a mile in 1:33.13, defeating Mind Your Biscuits  by a nose and earning a 109 Beyer Speed Figure. His Steve Sexton Mile score came by 5 1/2 lengths over Betfair.com Haskell Invitational Stakes (G1) winner Girvin  .

Bee Jersey is the most accomplished son of Jersey Town  . Out of the stakes-placed Rahy mare Bees , he is from the family of Weekend Surprise, dam of classic winners A.P. Indy and Summer Squall. He stood the 2022 season for an advertised fee of $5,000. His first winner, Balu Jersey, won in Russia earlier this season.
