Due to temperatures in the upper 90's and a rising heat index, the sixth race on the July 24 card at Monmouth Park was canceled and racing was delayed for a little more than an hour until 4 p.m.
The card resumed with the seventh race, a $12,500 claimer at six furlongs.
The sixth race, which was canceled while horses were in the paddock, was a maiden special weight on the turf.
There were consolation payouts in the sequence wagers involving the sixth race as it was declared an All-race in those bets.
As for the Jersey Shore Six wager, which was slated to begin with the sixth race, it proceeded with the sixth as an All- race, but, due to New Jersey regulations, the carryover of roughly $172,000 was not added to the pool. There will be a mandatory payout based solely on the money wagered on Sunday's races.
