Sacred Life wins the Monmouth Stakes at Monmouth Park

It will not be along the lines of his past invasions of Arlington International Race Course, but trainer Chad Brown plans to be represented in the transplanted duo of the Arlington Million Stakes (G1T)  and Beverly D. Stakes (G1T) Aug. 13 at Churchill Downs.

Brown said July 31 he will be sending Sacred Life  to the Million, which will be contested at 1 1/8 miles with a $1,000,000 purse, and Rougir  to the $500,000 Beverly D., also at 1 1/8 miles on turf.

Michael Dubb, Madaket Stables, Wonder Stables, and Michael Caruso's Sacred Life, a 7-year-old Siyouni  ridgling, is coming off a win in the June 18 Monmouth Stakes (G3T).

Peter Brant and Michael Tabor's Rougir, a 4-year-old daughter of Territories , opened 2022 with a victory in the Beaugay Stakes (G3T), her lone win in three starts this year. She was fourth most recently in the Diana Stakes (G1T).

In discussing plans for upcoming races, Brown also said the multiple grade 1-winning 3-year-old Jack Christoper was on track for a Aug. 27 start in the H. Allen Jerkens Memorial (G1) at Saratoga Race Course.
