Trainer Ramon Preciado Saddles 1,000th Winner

Recently honored as Parx Racing's top trainer of 2014, Ramon Preciado celebrated his 1,000th victory April 28 at the track when Fantastic Voyage completed a last-to-first rally to win the day's seventh race .
 
A 4-year-old Congrats   filly, Fantastic Voyage was making her first start for Preciado and new owner Barbara Hopkins following a $12,500 claim at March 5 Gulfstream Park. Entering with just one win from 31 career starts, she overwhelmed a group of seven fillies and mares to break her first allowance condition, winning by 7 3/4 lengths with Pablo Fragoso aboard.
 
Preciado, whose brother is Parx Hall of Fame trainer Guadalupe Preciado, has picked up where he left off last year when he won his first training title. Through the first four months of 2015, he ranks atop the track's trainer standings with 46 winners from 136 starters for an impressive winning percentage of 33.8.
 
Thus far for the year, he has 54 wins, 34 seconds, and 24 thirds from 167 starters who have earned $1,317,137 through April 27.
 
A native of Mexico, Preciado got his trainer license in 1991. His 4,303 starters have earned nearly $25.2 million in purses. He has also sent out 774 runners-up and 593 third-place finishers.
