

Due to extreme heat in the weather forecast, Woodbine Entertainment announced Aug. 7 that it is cancelling the Sunday race card at Woodbine "for equine welfare and the safety of all racing participants."
The Georgian Bay Stakes and Lake Huron Stakes will be rescheduled for Aug. 12 with a 1 p.m. ET post time. The 2022 Thoroughbred meet at Woodbine will continue Aug. 11 with a new a post time of 4:50 p.m. ET.
Also Sunday, Canterbury Park management has cancelled racing after heavy rain storms hit the Shakopee, Minn., area Saturday morning and continued throughout the afternoon into the morning hours Sunday.
Jockeys met with track the maintenance team Sunday morning to evaluate the track surface and again voiced safety concerns leading to the cancelation. Races were canceled Saturday evening following the third race as well. An eight-race program had been scheduled for Sunday.
Racing will resume Wednesday at 5 p.m.
