Luxembourg wins the 2021 Vertem Futurity Trophy at Doncaster

One-time Epsom Derby (G1) favorite Luxembourg  will face five rivals when he makes his highly anticipated return from injury in the Aug. 13 Fitzdares Royal Whip Stakes (G3) at the Curragh.

Ruled out of the Derby after suffering a muscular injury, last year's Vertem Futurity Stakes (G1) winner has not been seen since finishing third in the Qipco Two Thousand Guineas (G1) in April.

The son of Camelot  is set to make his return in the 10-furlong group 3 before being aimed at bigger targets, which could include the Irish Champion Stakes (G1) and the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1).

In the card's other group 3, the Irish St. Leger Trial (G3), dual Comer Group International Irish St. Leger (G1) heroine Search For A Song  will face five rivals as she bids to return to winning ways after finishing down the field at Longchamp.

Newbury headlines the action in Britain with the BetVictor Hungerford Stakes (G2), in which Tiber Flow  will bid to bounce back following his defeat at Royal Ascot. The William Haggas-trained 3-year-old was a listed winner at the track this year but finished eighth in the Commonwealth Cup (G1) at the royal meeting and steps back up in trip and down in class. He is set to face Fred Cowley MBE Memoria Summer Mile (G2) winner Chindit  and World Pool Lennox Stakes (G2) third Pogo . Classy fillies Happy Romance  and Double Or Bubble  are also entered.
