The status of Charge It for the $1.25 million Runhappy Travers Stakes (G1) is cloudy after the 3-year-old son of Tapit did not work Aug. 20 at Saratoga Race Course.
"Gonna try and breeze tomorrow," Pletcher said between sets outside his barn on the Oklahoma Training Track.
When asked if Charge It had a setback, Pletcher said: "Yes, but I am not revealing it at this time. That's all I am saying right now."
A homebred for Mandy Pope's Whisper Hill Farm, Charge It has two wins and two seconds in five races this year. In his most recent start, he stormed away from the field July 2 to capture the one-mile Dwyer Stakes (G3) at Belmont Park by 23 lengths.
