

Cody's Wish foiled Jackie's Warrior 's bid to join Fourstardave as a six-time stakes winner at Saratoga Race Course with a last-to-first victory Aug. 27 in the $600,000 Forego Stakes (G1).
The Godolphin homebred, named for a 16-year-old boy who suffers from the rare genetic disorder Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome, added his grade 1 win to his resume that included last-out scores in the Westchester Stakes (G3) and Hanshin Stakes Presented by JRA.
Under jockey Junior Alvarado, Cody's Wish settled far off a spirited early pace of :22.75 and :45.10 established by 1-9 favorite Jackie's Warrior with Pipeline in hot pursuit. Jackie's Warrior shook off Pipeline in midstretch but Cody's Wish, who had begun building up momentum around the final bend, stormed down the center of the stretch to catch Jackie's Warrior in the final sixteenth.
Cody's Wish hit the wire in a near-track record time of 1:20.95 for the seven furlongs.
Trained by Bill Mott, the 4-year-old son of Curlin paid $18 for a $2 win ticket.
Jackie's Warrior and Pipeline completed the trifecta.
