Several horses recorded Aug. 29 works at Keeneland for trainer Wesley Ward, including two-time group 1 winner Campanelle , who is nominated to the Sept. 10 $600,000 Mint Ladies Sprint Stakes (G3T) at Kentucky Downs.

Breezing over the turf course, the 4-year-old daughter of Kodiac  clocked five-furlongs in 1:03.80. She has recorded five breezes at the Lexington track since her third-place finish across the pond in the June 18 Platinum Jubilee Stakes (G1) at Ascot Racecourse.

Campanelle's only other start this year was a victory in the April 16 Giant's Causeway Stakes at Keeneland.

The Stonestreet Stables runner could potentially face Caravel , winner of the Aug. 20 Smart N Fancy Stakes at Saratoa Race Course, and Creative Credit , victress in the Aug. 7 Laguna Distaff Turf Sprint Stakes at Ellis Park, in the 6 1/2-furlong Ladies Sprint Stakes. Campanelle's stablemates, grade 1 winner Kimari  and Smart N Fancy third-place finisher Illegal Smile  are also among those nominated.

Jaipur Stakes (G1T) runner-up Arrest Me Red  also breezed Monday, working five-furlongs on the dirt in 1:02.60. The Lael Stables-owned colt is nominated to the Sept. 10 $1 Million FanDuel Turf Sprint (G2T) at Kentucky Downs.

The 4-year-old son of Pioneerof the Nile  captured the May 6 Twin Spires Turf Sprint Stakes Presented by Sysco (G2T) on the Kentucky Oaks (G1) undercard before finishing a narrow second to Casa Creed  in the June 11 Jaipur Stakes at Belmont Park in his most recent outing.

The six-furlong Turf Sprint is a "Win and You're In" contest for the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1T).

Other workers for Ward included Nakatomi  and Castle Leoch  who are both nominated to Kentucky Downs' $600,000 Franklin-Simpson Stakes (G2T) Sept. 10 for 3-year-olds going 6 1/2-furlongs on the turf.

Owned by Qatar Racing Limited, Marc Detampel, and Bottle Rocket Stable, Nakatomi was timed in 1:01.20 for five furlongs on the main track. The Firing Line   gelding, a grade 2-placed runner on the dirt, hasn't raced on the turf since an eighth place finish in last year's Norfolk Stakes (G2) during the Royal Ascot meet.

Castle Leoch breezed in 1:02.40 on the main track for owners Sayjay Racing. The American Pharoah   colt broke his maiden last September at Kentucky Downs as a 2-year-old. A winner of an allowance optional claiming race at Belmont Park two starts back, Castle Leoch disappointed last time out when crossing the line in seventh in his stakes debut in the July 22 Oceanside Stakes at Del Mar.

Twilight Gleaming Returns to Work Tab

Last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2T) winner Twilight Gleaming  returned to the work tab when she went four furlongs over the dirt in :49.80.

The 3-year-old daughter of National Defense  hasn't raced since defeating older females in the July 29 Daisycutter Handicap at Del Mar.

A specialist over the five-furlong turf distance, Stonestreet Stables' Twilight Gleaming won the Mamzelle Overnight Stakes at Churchill Downs after falling 3/4 of a length short of victory in Keeneland's Palisades Stakes against males.
