The Derby is the place to see and be seen after a day at the races. The place is always packed, and it’s completely normal to run into winning owners, trainers and jockeys celebrating the day’s victories at Santa Anita. There’s even a memorabilia case that shows historical trophies, saddles and more from years past.

The eating area of the Derby is very old-school groovy; think oak, limestone and leather. The place has an upscale English pub feel to it, and the food is some of the best in town. Their menu is diverse and delicious; don’t miss the bacon-wrapped filet mignon or the Chilean seabass.

Not hungry? No problem! The Derby has a fully stocked bar area that’s always jumping once the day’s races are over. Make a reservation ASAP, though – this is a very popular post-race destination!

One Hundred to One is a partier’s paradise! This place is where people go after the races to let their hair down. You’ll catch turf writers singing karaoke with jockeys' agents; this is where grooms and assistant trainers gather to have a drink and a dance, and where successful bettors blow a little of their winnings on games and cocktails.

It may not look like much on the outside, but the place has a ton of charm. It’s fun, cozy and always a little crazy – in the best possible way! Plus, as you may have guessed from the name, the place celebrates the local horse racing culture. Check out this cool mural:

This place can definitely be classified as a dive bar; think cash-only, plus (be warned) for some reason you can still smoke in there. But the service is friendly, the locals are welcoming and the drinks are cheap. Also, there’s pool, shuffleboard and a jukebox, too! Just remember to bring cash with you, because the word on the street is that the ATM there has pretty steep service fees. Hopefully a winning day at the track will make that no problem!
