Undefeated 4-year-old Flightline has been installed as the 5-2 favorite for the second of two future wagers on this year's $6 million Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1). Pool 2 of the Breeders' Cup Classic future wager will open Sept. 2 at 12:00 p.m. ET and will close Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The Breeders' Cup Classic future wager is a $2 minimum bet and is a win wager only. It enables fans to bet on 24 wagering interests for the Nov. 5 race well in advance of the actual race date. Odds on horses in the future pools typically provide more value to horseplayers than those available on race day. This year's Breeders' Cup Classic will be run at Keeneland as part of the 39th Breeders' Cup World Championships.
Odds for Pool 2 of the Breeders' Cup Classic Future Wager
The future wager will consist of 23 unique interests and one "All Others" wager for a total of 24 betting interests. "All Others" includes all Thoroughbreds other than the pool's individual horses.
Betting on all Breeders' Cup Future Wagers will be offered via Breeders' Cup partner TVG.com, and other advanced deposit wagering sites, racetracks, casinos, simulcast centers, and off-track betting sites.
Flightline is the odds-on favorite for the Sept. 3 TVG Pacific Classic (G1) at Del Mar, a Breeders' Cup Challenge race that guarantees the winner an automatic starting position in the Breeders' Cup Classic. In his only start this year, the Tapit colt won the June 11 Hill 'n' Dale Metropolitan Handicap (G1) at Belmont Park for trainer John Sadler and owners Hronis Racing, Siena Farm, Summer Wind Equine, West Point Thoroughbreds, and Woodford Racing.
Flightline is followed in the wagering by 7-2 Epicenter , winner of the Aug. 27 Runhappy Travers Stakes (G1) for 3-year-olds at Saratoga Race Course. The 4-year-old Life Is Good , winner of both the Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes Presented by 1/ST BET (G1) and the Whitney Stakes (G1), is listed next at 4-1. Country Grammer , winner of the Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline (G1), who is also entered in the TVG Pacific Classic, is the fourth choice at 12-1.
Flightline was favored at the close of Pool 1 of the future wager Aug. 7, with a will pay of $6.98 on a $2 wager.
