Really Good breaks his maiden at Saratoga Race Course

Headlining the Sept. 3 Kentucky Downs Juvenile Mile Stakes, a $500,000 one-mile turf event for 2-year-olds, is Really Good , an impressive last-out maiden winner July 23 at Saratoga Race Course.

The morning-line favorite at 5-2, the son of Hard Spun   is trained by Mike Maker and owned in partnership by Paradise Farms, David Staudacher, and Jason Ash.

The colt will contest other last-out winners in stablemate Bourbon Therapy  and Michael Dini trainee Bramble Blaze .

Rounding out the nine-horse field is Steele Money , Mayfield Strong , Castleknock , Laver , Deer District , and Anglophile .

Also on the card is the $500,000 Aristocrat Juvenile Fillies Stakes which will be contested by Gary Barber's Janis Joplin  who has yet to add a win to her record, but is the lone filly in a field of nine who has contested graded stakes territory.

The Mark Casse trainee comes to the one-mile turf contest for 2-year-old fillies off of a runner-up finish last out in the Aug. 7 Adirondack Stakes (G3) at Saratoga where she finished 2 1/2 lengths behind Naughty Gal .

The filly will face 3-1 morning-line favorite Knockyoursocksoff  who comes off of a 3 1/2-length maiden special weight score Aug. 3 at Colonial Downs for trainer Chris Block.
