Heavy rainfall has led to the cancellation of the final three races on the Sept. 3 Kentucky Downs race card. The races included the $1 million WinStar Mint Million Stakes (G3T) and $500,000 Kentucky Downs Juvenile Mile Stakes.
Kentucky Downs reported on Twitter that the races would be rescheduled but that no date had yet been determined. The Southern Kentucky track runs exclusively on turf, not having a dirt course.
No decision has been made on the status of the 11-race card Sept. 4 at Kentucky Downs, but the track stated that updates would be released every five hours. There is a threat of rainfall throughout much of the weekend.
Races 8-11 have been cancelled, and the races will be rescheduled TBD. No decision has been made yet on Sunday’s card, and updates will come every five hours.
