An Into Mischief filly bloodstock agent Donato Lanni dubbed as "honest and classy but fast" commanded $1.25 million during the first day of selling at the Sept. 12 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
The second seven-figure yearling and sold from Paramount Sales' consignment, the filly (Hip 52) was bred in Kentucky by Stoneway Farm. She is the first foal out of the Spring At Last mare Song of Spring, who captured the 2018 Allaire du Pont Distaff Stakes (G3) under the Stoneway Farm silks. Song of Spring is a daughter of Adream, a Bernardini half sister to grade 1 winner and grade 1 producer Dream Rush.
"(Hip 52 is a) good physical," Lanni said, signing the ticket on Hip 52 on behalf of Frank Fletcher Racing Operations. "Frank (Fletcher)'s had some luck with Into Mischief. He liked her a lot and he had a lot of input on her."
Some luck would be an understatement.
Fletcher bred and currently owns the six-time stakes-winning Into Mischief daughter Frank's Rockette . The incredibly consistent race mare has amassed over $1.1 million in earnings and boasts a 9-9-3 record from 23 starts. Frank's Rockette recently romped home by six lengths in the Aug. 26 $250,00 Misty Bennett Pink Ribbon Stakes at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races.
"(Frank is) a longtime friend and client," Lanni said. "Everyone knows Frank Fletcher by now—unique man, unique personality. He's good for the business and easy to cheer for. We're happy we got her."
