Mandy Pope's Whisper Hill Farm took home its sole purchase of the day during the second session of Book 1 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale when it went to $1,100,000 for Hip 331, a colt by Quality Road  .

Purchased with Three Chimneys Farm, the colt was consigned by Hill 'n' Dale Sales, which represents the other half of the breeding partnership.

The colt is out of the Distorted Humor  mare Magical World, recently purchased by both partners at the 2021 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Mixed Sale for $5,200,000 from Hill 'n' Dale.

He is a half sibling to Guarana , who took the Acorn Stakes (G1) and the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1) in 2019, and the Madison Stakes (G1) in 2020.

"He's an awesome individual. He's such a big, stout horse but he moves really great," said Whisper Hill's general manager/racing manager Todd Quast. "We bought the mare in November; we have the family.

"Three Chimneys wanted to go in with us as well, we're ecstatic to have the horse. The price was a little expensive but we're still very happy with it."

Three Chimneys made three other purchases of its own, including Hip 195, a Speightstown   colt consigned by Gainesway; Hip 221, a Street Sense   colt consigned by Claiborne Farm; and Hip 252, an Uncle Mo   colt consigned by Lane's End, for a gross of $1,550,000.
