Hronis Racing LLC, Siena Farm LLC, Summer Wind Equine LLC, West Point Thoroughbreds, and Woodford Racing, LLC,'s undefeated Flightline was voted a unanimous No. 1 in the latest Longines Breeders' Cup Classic Rankings, a weekly rating of the top 10 horses in contention for the $6 million Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky, on Nov. 5.
Flightline, a breathtaking 19 ¼-length winner of the TVG Pacific Classic (G1) at Del Mar on Sept. 3, received 29 first-place votes in Week #12 of the poll consisting of leading Thoroughbred racing media, horseplayers, and members of the Breeders' Cup Racing Directors/Secretaries Panel. Trained by John Sadler, Flightline earned an automatic berth in the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic with his Pacific Classic victory.
The rankings of the top 10 horses remained unchanged from last week. Following Flightline's 290 votes at the top is CHC Inc. and WinStar Farms LLC's Life Is Good with 243 votes in second place. The 4-year-old Life Is Good, winner of both the Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) and the Whitney Stakes (G1), is expected to start next in the Oct. 1 Woodward Stakes (G1) at Aqueduct. Winchell Thoroughbreds' 3-year-old Epicenter, who won the Runhappy Travers Stakes (G1) for trainer Steve Asmussen, is in third place with 229 votes. Grandview Equine, Cheyenne Stable LLC, and LNJ Foxwoods' 4-year-old Olympiad, winner of Saratoga's Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1), stays in fourth place with 193 votes.
Commonwealth Thoroughbreds, LLC, WinStar Farm LLC, and Zedan Racing Stables, Inc.'s Country Grammer, winner of the Dubai World Cup (G1) and second in the TVG Pacific Classic, is in fifth place with 164 votes. Boat Racing, LLC, Gainesway Stable, Roadrunner Racing, and William Strauss' 4-year-old Hot Rod Charlie, who was third in the Whitney for trainer Doug O'Neill, remains in sixth place with 102 votes.
Gold Square LLC's 3-year-old Cyberknife, who finished second in the Travers, is in seventh place with 92 votes for trainer Brad Cox. Wertheimer and Frere's 5-year-old Happy Saver, who finished second in the Whitney, holds down eighth place with 67 votes.
CHC Inc. and WinStar Farm LLC's 4-year-old Americanrevolution, runner-up in The Jockey Club Gold Cup, is in ninth place with 55 votes. Zedan Racing Stable, Inc.'s 3-year-old Taiba, winner of the Santa Anita Derby (G1) and runner-up in the TVG.com Haskell Stakes (G1), is in 10th place with 36 votes.
