Courtlandt Farm's Donald and Donna Adam added five more promising yearlings to their racing stable based in Ocala, Fla., Sept. 14. The first purchase on Day Three of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale came as a $925,000 son of Curlin   was consigned as Hip 410 by Gainesway, agent for Stonestreet Bred & Raised.

"He was a beautiful horse when we saw him on the farm, and he was a beautiful horse here," Gainesway's general manager Brian Graves said. "I expected him to be one of our top lots. We'll see how it pans out the rest of the day. He was everything you wanted to see. I considered him for Book 1, but Stonestreet had other horses that ranked higher at the time. That shows you the quality and depth of their program."

The Kentucky-bred colt is out of 2017 Golden Rod Stakes (G2) winner Road to Victory , who was also placed in the 2018 Mother Goose Stakes (G2). The mare has a 2-year-old War Front   colt which has not started. Stonestreet purchased the mare carrying the now juvenile from the 2019 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Mixed Sale for $1,450,000 from the Bluewater Sales draft.

Not long after their first purchase, Courtlandt returned to Gainesway to secure Hip 431, a City of Light   filly from the family of multiple graded earner Icon Project . The yearling filly out of the Uncle Mo   mare Sex Symbol was bred in Kentucky by Green Lantern Stables and sold for $210,000. The Empire Maker  mare Icon Project took the Personal Ensign Stakes (G1) at Saratoga Race Course, the New York Stakes (G3), and placed second in the Delaware Handicap (G2), all during her campaign at 4.

Another filly was added to the fray Wednesday with Hip 530 to the tune of $400,000. The Liam's Map   yearling out of the unraced Trappe Shot  mare All Night Party was bred in Kentucky by Gilder-Schwarz Farms and consigned by Pope McLean (Crestwood Farm). The dam is a half sibling to 2013 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) winner Ria Antonia , an earner of more than $1.5 million and producer of Ria Amelia, a multiple graded winner of more than $1 million in Japan.
