Dual group 1 winner Saffron Beach is the latest superstar race filly set to grace Tattersalls' new Sceptre session in the December Mares Sale on Nov. 29.
The sale, which takes place from Nov. 28 to Dec. 1, will also see multiple group 1 winner Alcohol Free offered alongside Desert Berry , the dam of this year's Cazoo Derby (G1) winner Desert Crown .
Saffron Beach is another famous name having started her journey to stardom by winning both her starts at 2, including the Godolphin Lifetime Care Oh So Sharp Stakes for trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam.
She went on to finish second in the Qipco One Thousand Guineas (G1) last year before adding a maiden top-level winner to her name back at Newmarket Racecourse in the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes (G1). She also struck in the Betway Atalanta Stakes (G3) at Sandown Park in between.
The daughter of New Bay returned this year as good as ever when, after a fine fourth in the Dubai Turf Sponsored by DP World (G1), registering an easy success in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes (G2) and then the Prix Rothschild (G1).
She was most recently second to Pearls Galore in the Coomore America Justify Matron Stakes (G1) on Irish Champions Weekend.
Bred by China Horse Club, the 4-year-old is from the first crop of Ballylinch Stud's exciting New Bay. She is out of the winning Raven's Pass mare Falling Petals .
Saffron Beach's half sister by Australia , Providenciales, sold from Ballylinch to Blandford Bloodstock for 450,000 guineas (US$642,982) in Book 1 last year. She is in training with John and Thady Gosden.
Falling Petals is a half sister to Shadwell Middle Park Stakes (G1) third Huntdown and to Continua , the dam of group winner and King's Stand Stakes (G1) second Cotai Glory , a leading second-season sire for Tally-Ho Stud.
