A number of high-class performers for Godolphin will be offered at the Racing in Dubai Sale on Sept. 17, including group 3-winning juvenile La Barrosa  and last year's listed Blue Riband Trial winner Wirko

Taking place from 6:45 p.m. local time at Meydan Quarantine, all horses are selected by Godolphin's bloodstock manager Marie Sullivan.

Star graduates include this year's Burj Nahaar Sponsored by Emirates Skycargo (G3) winner Desert Wisdom  and Mahab Al Shimaal Sponsored by Emirates Airline (G3) winner Eastern World ; the former was also a good second in the Godolphin Mile Sponsored by Nakheel (G2) on Dubai World Cup night in March.

Desert Wisdom, a half brother to last year's Natalma Stakes (G1T) winner Wild Beauty , was a AED70,000 (US$19,054) purchase by Fathi Asaed Mohamed Egziama. Eastern World , a half brother to dual Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline (G1) winner Thunder Snow  and out of Godolphin's top-class producer Eastern Joy, made AED220,000 ($59,886) to Ahmad bin Harmash from the same sale last year.

This year's selection include Godolphin pair La Barrosa (Lot 34), a son of Lope de Vega  whose two wins include the Somerville Tattersalls Stakes (G3) and who was second to subsequent Qipco Two Thousand Guineas (G1) runner-up Master of The Seas  in the Bet365 Craven Stakes (G3), and Wirko (Lot 33), a Kingman  gelding who landed Epsom's Blue Derby Trial and was also fourth in the Chester Vase (G3).

Other notables include Godolphin's dual winner and Unibet Classic Trial (G3) third Bright Melody  (Lot 37); Desert Peace  (Lot 38), a four-time winning son of Curlin   from the family of grade 1 winner Taris; and the consistent Fall of Rome (Lot 20), a Frankel  gelding who had decent form as a 2-year-old but has yet to run this year.

Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmook Al Maktoum, vice-chairman of the Emirates Racing Authority, said: "We are delighted to offer some exceptional bloodstock for the current ownership base, and hopefully this will encourage new owners to invest in the UAE racing industry.

"The Racing in Dubai Sale provides great value and has a proven record in producing horses that win at all our tracks, even being successful at the World Cup meeting."

Viewing of the lots will take place on Thursday and Friday from 8-10 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. each day, while potential buyers can view the list of horses via the Emirates Racing Authority website
