Nothing Better wins the Rainbow Heir Stakes at Monmouth Park

That's Right  and Nothing Better , two stakes winners on turf this summer at Monmouth Park, meet about 65 miles away in Pennsylvania in the $300,000 Turf Monster Stakes (G3T) at Parx Racing Sept. 24.

The duo's Monmouth performances were comparable, with That's Right winning the 5 1/2-furlong My Frenchman Stakes July 17 by 3 1/4 lengths in 1:02.46 and Nothing Better taking the Aug. 14 Rainbow Heir Stakes by two lengths in 1:02.57 over the same trip. Nothing Better's race was for 3-year-olds and up, while That's Right competed against strictly 3-year-olds.

James A. Shannon Jr.'s That's Right faces older stakes horses for the first time Saturday in the Turf Monster. The Michael Moore trainee, a son of Goldencents  , is the 3-1 morning-line favorite under Andy Hernandez despite having run sixth in the seven-horse Mahony Stakes at Saratoga in his lone start after the My Frenchman.

Colts Neck Stables' Nothing Better (Munnings  ) followed up his stakes victory with a more competitive try, finishing second when stretched out to two turns in the mile Red Bank Stakes Sept. 5. All five of his victories have come sprinting for trainer Jorge Duarte Jr., who also entered Grooms All Bizness  in the Turf Monster for Colts Neck Stables. Luis Saez rides Nothing Better, the 4-1 second favorite on the morning line in Saturday's five-furlong grass dash.
