Led by Flightline , the world's top-rated horse, prospects for the Nov. 5 Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) at Keeneland turned in workouts across the country Sept. 24.
Saturday's breeze from Flightline, coming at Santa Anita Park, was his first since his 19 1/4-length romp in the TVG Pacific Classic (G1) at Del Mar Sept. 3. The unbeaten 4-year-old Tapit colt, trained by John Sadler for owners Hronis Racing, Siena Farm, Summer Wind Equine, West Point Thoroughbreds, and Woodford Racing, covered an easy half-mile under exercise rider and assistant trainer Juan Leyva in :48.

Plans call for Flightline to train up to the Breeders' Cup Classic, a 1 1/4-mile race for which he is the heavy, early favorite. He closed at 4-5 odds in the second pool of the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic Future Wager that wrapped up early this month.
Elsewhere, two other leading Classic hopefuls—Life Is Good and Hot Rod Charlie —turned in breezes, with the former covering five furlongs in 1.00.76 at Saratoga Race Course for Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher and the latter breezing six furlongs in 1:11 3/5 at Keeneland for trainer Doug O'Neill.
They are pointed to different 1 1/8-mile contests Oct. 1 that are intended to be their final races before the Breeder's Cup. Life Is Good is expected for the $500,000 Woodford Stakes (G1) at the Belmont at the Big A Meet at Aqueduct Racetrack, and Hot Rod Charlie is pointed to the Lukas Classic (G2) at Churchill Downs.
