Description:

The Preakness Stakes is less than two weeks away and the buzz surrounding the Triple Crown is in full swing. The period between the Kentucky Derby and Preakness is always extremely exciting. For these two weeks, we're all inclined to dream about the possibility of a potential Triple Crown winner. In the days and hours leading up to the second jewel of the Triple Crown, you'll want to make sure that you're following several key Twitter accounts. Here are some of the best accounts to follow for the Preakness.
@PimlicoRC

The official Twitter handle of the home of the Preakness Stakes, Pimlico Race Course. This account will keep you up to speed on everything going on from the backstretch to the InfieldFest.
@PreaknessStakes

Another obvious and essential account to follow. The official Preakness account is especially good to follow for updates on which horses may or may not be running, photos of the horses arriving in Baltimore and working out over the track.
@Gabby_Gaudet_

As the paddock reporter and race analyst at Pimlico and Laurel Park, Gabby Gaudet is one of the most recognizable personalities on the Maryland racing scene. She's also a great source for information on how horses look at the track, and she's been known to hand out some nice-priced winners, as well.
@DaveRodman

The voice of the Preakness, Dave Rodman is one of the more active track announcers on Twitter and he's another great source for observations of everything going on at the track.
@EspinozasVictor

For the second year in a row, jockey Victor Espinoza comes to Baltimore with the winning Kentucky Derby horse. Last year it was California Chrome, this year it's American Pharoah.
@ZayatStables, @Jazz3162,  @JustinZayat and @AshleyZayat8

American Pharoah's owners Zayat Stables, with father Ahmed, son Justin and daughter Ashley, always have plenty to share on Twitter. They're really good about putting out behind-the-scenes photos. They're also very responsive to fans.
@Bloodhorse and @BH_CNovak, @BH_AEberhardt, @BH_Fangst, @BH_EMitchell, @SteveHaskin, @Bloodhorse_Esp

The team at The Blood-Horse will be all over the action at Pimlico on Preakness weekend. From workout reports and interviews with trainers and owners to photos and video, Blood-Horse will have it covered. The new Blood-Horse Español has also done a great job of putting out quotes in Spanish and some spectacular images from the track.
@DowntownDiane

Diane has got her finger on the pulse of everything going on in Baltimore, the best places to eat, the nightlife, celebrity-related news and a lot more. If you're looking for things to do around Baltimore on Preakness weekend, just check out Diane's Twitter feed.
@MDHorseRadio

Hosted by Stan Salter on CBS Sports Radio 1300, Maryland Horse Radio is a great source for Maryland racing news and interviews with all of the key players on Preakness weekend.
@DanonymousMan and @Itsmevictoriag

As someone who lived in Maryland and who also writes for @MidAtlanticTB, the Preakness is really my Super Bowl. I'll be all over the place, along with my America's Best Racing partner Victoria Garofalo, tweeting photos and information about the horses, races, parties and everything else going on Preakness week. Speaking of parties, if you're in the area, join us for our second annual Pre-Preakness Kick-Off Party at Mt. Washington Tavern on Wednesday, May 13, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by our good friends @SagamoreRacing, another great follow on Twitter.
@JoeClancy65

Since featuring Joe Clancy on this list last year, Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred Magazine's editor has been busy, you know, winning an Eclipse Award. He's not only one of the best turf writers I know, Joe is an absolute gentleman and a phenomenal follow on Twitter.
@HorseRacingNut

Gary Quill's Twitter handle couldn't be more appropriate. He absolutely loves racing and he's a pretty sharp handicapper too. If you want info on how to play the races on Preakness weekend, give Gary a follow.
@BigDreyfus

This is the Twitter account for the Maryland Jockey Club's legendary racing secretary, Georganne Hale. Every race run in Maryland goes through Georganne. That said, she's a great source for racing information and definitely one to follow leading up to Preakness.
@TrevormMccarthy, @VictorJockey, @NikJuarez, @SheldonRussell1 and @JevianToledo

Maryland has one of the most active jockey colonies when it comes to social media. You can find just about all of the top local jockeys on Twitter and they're all great about tweeting out photos from the track and interacting with fans.
@BESStakes

The day before the Preakness is Black-Eyed Susan day, or Ladies Day, at Pimlico. If you're looking for high fashion (as long as it's pink), good drinks and a great time, BES day is a wonderful time.
@TheRacingBiz

One of the best sources of racing information in the Mid-Atlantic, this online magazine always finds great stories. It is run by Frank Vespe, who's another really nice guy who will be running around all week long and posting a ton of great information and photos.
@Annela1rd

Anne heads up the social media department for the Maryland Horse Breeders Association. She tweets out some really fun photos. She's a great source for keeping up with what's happening both at the track and away from it on Preakness week.
@ABRLive and @TeamABRLive

As mentioned, America's Best Racing will be out in full force on Preakness week. From our ambassadors to our digital media manager @PenelopePMiller, our Twitter feeds will be loaded with race updates, horse information, photos, links to fresh content and a whole lot more!
