Malathaat lived up to the high expectations placed upon her, pulling away from the field to take the Juddmonte Spinster Stakes (G1) Oct. 9 at Keeneland. The race is part of the Breeders' Cup Challenge Series and a "Win and Your In" contest. The 2-5 favorite earned paid entry in the Breeders' Cup Distaff.
Malathaat, by Curlin out of the A.P. Indy mare Dreaming of Julia , is owned by Shadwell Stable and was bred by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings. She was trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by John Velazquez.
Army Wife , Played Hard , Letruska , and Princess of Cairo rounded out the order of finish. Malathat returned $2.88.
