Half to Chaldean Offered at Tatts December Foal Sale

A Kingman  half sister to last weekend's Darley Dewhurst Stakes (G1) winner Chaldean  is among a stellar catalog for the Tattersalls December Foal Sale, an auction that includes 153 foals by the current top 15 active British and Irish sires. 

Taking place at Park Paddocks from Nov. 23-26, the sale also features full and half brothers and sisters to 161 group and listed winners, including 11 group 1 winners, many hoping they can follow in the hoofprints of Blackbeard  and Chaldean.

This year's Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes (G1) and Dewhurst Stakes winners both sold at the December Foal Sale in 2020, when offered by Norelands and Whitsbury Manor Studs. 

Among the leading sires with foals being sold are Dark Angel , Dubawi , Frankel , Kingman, Kodiac , Lope de Vega , Mehmas , Nathaniel, Night of Thunder , No Nay Never , Oasis Dream , Sea The Stars ,and Showcasing .

One of the highlights of the sale is Whitsbury Manor Stud's Kingman half sister to Dewhurst scorer Chaldean (lot 1025). Her top-class half brother sold to Juddmonte for 550,000gns (US$771,324) from the sale in 2020.

Sent into training with Andrew Balding, the chestnut son of Frankel has notched up a four-timer including wins in the Tattersalls Acomb Stakes (G3), the Coral Champagne Stakes (G2), and the showpiece juvenile group 1 at Newmarket on Saturday. 

The pair are out of the prolific Dutch Art  mare Suelita , whose progeny also include Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes (G2) scorer and young sire Alkumait , listed winner The Broghie Man  and stakes-placed pair Get Ahead  and Gloves Lynch 

Other notables include Hyde Park Stud's Mehmas half brother to QIPCO One Thousand Guineas (G1) heroine Cachet  (Lot 1033); St Simon Stud's Lope de Vega half brother to Cazoo St Leger (G1) winner Eldar Eldarov  (Lot 1027); Clara Stud's Wootton Bassett  half sibling to Commonwealth Cup (G1) scorer Golden Horde  (Lot 982); and Fittocks Stud's Kingman half to Qatar Nassau Stakes (G1) victress Lady Bowthorpe  (Lot 1011). 

Another foal with a big recent update is Acorn Stud's Invincible Army  half brother to last month's Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes (G1) winner Lezoo , who will be offered as lot 1013, while Yellowford Farm sells a Sea The Stars half sister (Lot 1052) to the hugely exciting Mill Reef Stakes winner Sakheer .

Foals out of top racemares include Ashbrittle Stud's Too Darn Hot colt out of Investec Epsom Oaks (G1) heroine Talent  (Lot 1030), Tweenhills Farm's Kitten's Joy   colt out of St Leger winner Simple Verse  (Lot 1078), and Newsells Park Stud's Saxon Warrior filly out of group 1 scorer Sultanina , already named Crepe Suzette (IRE) (Lot 777). 

Richard Kent's Mickley Stud has the largest consignment with 54 foals, while Genesis Green Stud, leading consignor at the event last year, has a team of seven.
