Northern Farm Mixed Sale Now Includes Weanlings

Seventy-five fillies and mares and 38 weanlings are cataloged for the Northern Farm Mixed Sale at Northern Horse Park Oct. 25 in Hokkaido. Katsumi Yoshida's Northern Farm started to organize its own broodmare sale in 2019. Weanlings were added to the catalog this year, and the sale is now conducted as a mixed sale.
Hips 1-38 are weanlings, and the catalog looks very exciting. For example, Hip 11, a colt by Real Steel out of Dust and Diamonds, is half brother to Do Deuce , who won the Tokyo Yushun Japanese Derby (G1) in May but finished 19th in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1) at Longchamp Oct. 2. The dam, Dust and Diamonds, won the Gallant Bloom Handicap (G2) and Sugar Swirl Stakes (G3) in addition to finishing second in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1).

Hip 3 is a colt by American Pharoah out of Miss Besilu, who finished third in the Alabama Stakes (G1) and the TVG Coaching Club American Oaks (G1).
Hip 13 is a filly by Satono Diamond out of Euro Charline (GB), winner of the Beverly D. Stakes (G1T).
Hip 15 is a colt by Duramente out of Life For Sale (ARG), who is a half brother to Japanese Champion Juvenile Filly Danon Fantasy (JPN).
Hip 20 is a colt by Epiphaneia out of Stephanie's Kitten, winner of five grade 1 stakes, including the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1T).
