Caravaggio Set to Continue Stud Career in Japan

Multiple group 1-winning sprinter and group 1-producing sire Caravaggio will relocate from Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Versailles, Ky and will now take up duties at the Shizunai Stallion Station in Japan.
The son of Scat Daddy , an unbeaten 2-year-old and dual group 1 winner for Aidan O'Brien and Coolmore, had stood at the team's Irish base for his first three years at stud before moving to Ashford Stud in Kentucky ahead of the 2021 season.
Caravaggio captured seven of 10 starts for earnings of $992,823. The winner of the Commonwealth Cup (G1), Keeneland Phoenix Stakes (G1) and Coventry Stakes (G2) amid seven successes during racing, the now 8-year-old has been responsible for some fine performers in his second career.
These include 2021 Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes (G1) and this year's Haras d'Etreham Prix Jean Prat (G1) scorer Tenebrism , Mehl-Mulhens-Rennen-German Two Thousand Guineas (G2) victor and unlucky St. James's Palace Stakes (G1) fourth Maljoom , Alpha Centauri Debutante Stakes (G2) winner Agartha , and listed winner Tiber Flow .
Caravaggio started his stallion career off for a fee of €35,000, which was raised after two seasons to €40,000 in 2020. He then stood his debut term in America for $25,000, which was raised to $35,000 this year.
