Yearling Circuit Rolls at Arqana's October Sale

Graduates of the Arqana October Yearling Sale have been in rare form this season, and plenty of eyes undoubtedly will be noting the action from Deauville as the sale gets underway Oct. 17. 

With group winners such as Grand Glory , Wed , Iresine , Skazino , and Claymore  playing their part this term, alongside impressive Clipper Logistics Boomerang Mile (G2) scorer and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (G1) third Jadoomi , the show rolls on from Tattersalls' Park Paddocks to France's finest beach resort for five days. 

There is also the added bonus of all lots cataloged being eligible for the Arqana Series, a lucrative program of races for 2-year-olds that will be run at Deauville and Longchamp for a guaranteed minimum of €1.2 million in prize money. 

With 781 Lots cataloged before withdrawals, there is no real lack of opportunity for buyers, with a who's who of French breeders and studs as well as some very prominent stallions featuring. 

Standout lots in the catalog include Haras d'Etreham's Mehmas  (Lot 42), a half brother to Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac-Criterium des Pouliches (G1) winner Tiger Tanaka , and Haras de l'Hotellerie's Waldgeist half brother (Lot 51) to Runhappy Santa Anita Derby (G1) and Pennsylvania Derby (G1) victor Taiba .

Another notable offering is Haras du Logis Saint Germain's Siyouni  full brother to Emirates Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (French One Thousand Guineas-G1) winner Dream And Do  (Lot 157).

Others that catch the eye include Haras de l'Hotellerie's Sea The Stars  filly (Lot 623) out of a half sister to Danedream  and Venice Beach ; Haras d'Etreham's Frankel  half brother (Lot 170) to multiple group winner Duke of Hazzard ; and La Motteraye's Wootton Bassett  filly (Lot 289) from the fabled family of triple Qatar Prix de la Foret (G1) winner One Master ; Polypipe Flying Childers Stakes (G2) scorer Superstar Leo , and Racing Post Trophy Stakes (G1) victor Rivet 

Part one of the sale takes place Oct. 17 and 18, beginning at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. local time, respectively. Part two, Oct.19 and 20, takes place from 2 p.m. both days, while part three Oct. 21 is from 11 a.m. 

During the 2021 sale, a colt (Lot 209) by Camelot  out of twice group 3 scorer and three-time group 1 placed Board Meeting  commanded top honors after selling for $510,087 to Mandore Agency for M.V. Magnier from the Monceaux draft.
