Son of Sea The Stars Makes Top Price

Buyers crowded around the ring to see a son of Sea The Stars  (Lot 111b) out of listed winner Shamtee  go under the hammer.

Consigned by Haras du Mont dit Mont, the gavel fell at €340,000 ($330,501) in favor of trainer David Menuisier for the colt from the family of group 1 winners Territories , Helen Street, Street Cry, Victor Ludorum , and Shamardal .

Daughter of Lope de Vega for Gitte and Philippe Allaire

Bidding beside Deauville-based trainer Yann Barberot, Gitte and Philippe Allaire went to €310,000 ($301,339) for a daughter of Lope de Vega  (Lot 200).

Consigned by Coulonces, the Haras de Saint-Laurent homebred is out of listed winner Alzubra , which has already produced this

season's Australian ACJC Premiers Cup (G3) scorer Arapaho , as well as the black-type horses Alula Borealis  and Athabascan .

Demand was strong throughout the day, with figures not comparable to the previous edition, which hosted the first part of the catalog on a single day. A total of 81% of the 204 yearlings presented were sold for an average price of €77,479 ($75,314), generating a turnover of €12,792,000 ($12,434,617).
