The Arqana October Yearling Sale continued today with the second half of Part I of the catalog. Continuing on from the first day, demand remained strong with 81% of the 101 yearlings sold changing hands for an average price of €74,768 ($73,150) and a turnover of €6,131,000 ($5,998,374).
Two Top Prices for Anthony Stroud
Retaining the top spot on the leading buyers' table, Anthony Stroud set his sights on two yearlings including Lot 240, a Lope de Vega colt out of listed winner Cherry Lady, consigned by Haras d'Etreham. Bidding over the phone, the English agent had the last word at €210,000 ($205,457) for the grandson of group winner Cherry Danon.
A little later in the day, he went to €180,000 ($176,106) for a daughter of Zarak out of Prix de Malleret (G2)-placed Fuse (Lot 299). Offered from Haras du Hoguenet, the filly was bought in utero at the 2020 Breeding Stock Sale by Thierry Delègue (Pégase Bloodstock) on behalf of Guillaume de Saint-Seine. The well-bred filly hails from the family of Legerete, which has produced Soleil Marin, Iron Lips, and Falco.
