Key of Life wins an allowance optional claimer at Keeneland

In the $200,000 Myrtlewood Stakes Oct. 28 at Keeneland, a six-furlong race in which many of the 11 2-year-old fillies have shown precocity and speed, one entrant, Key of Life , holds an advantage of favorable local experience.

The 2-year-old Mo Town   filly is one of just two horses in the race that has started at the Lexington oval, the other being Take Charge Briana , who ran 10th in the Darley Alcibiades Stakes (G1) Oct. 7. Key of Life made an earlier appearance on the Oct. 7 card in an allowance optional claimer, winning by 6 1/4 lengths in fast time.

The victory was her second win in three starts for trainer Brad Cox and owners Flurry Racing Stables and Hoffman Family Racing after a maiden score in August at Churchill Downs. She had run third in her debut there in June.

Florent Geroux, aboard for both of her wins, is back aboard the quick-returning, 8-5 morning-line favorite.

Possessing similar form and an identical 2-0-1 in three starts is Somebody's Problem , a Runhappy   homebred filly racing for owner Hoolie Racing Stable. The Greg Foley trainee won the Prairie Meadows Debutante Stakes last out on Aug. 26.
