Gainesway announced Oct. 26 its stallion roster and fees for the 2023 breeding season, led once again by the world-renowned sire Tapit , who will remain at $185,000.
A three-time leading North American sire by progeny earnings, Tapit is the leading active sire by career grade 1 winners (29), grade 1 performers (62), graded stakes winners (96), graded stakes performers (184), stakes winners (154), and stakes performers (299), and he is the all-time leading sire by lifetime progeny earnings ($188,654,112).
Tapit's runners have been led in 2022 by the unbeaten Flightline , whose dominant victories in the Hill 'n' Dale Metropolitan Handicap (G1) and TVG Pacific Classic Stakes (G1) have made him a towering favorite for this year's Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1).

As a sire-of-sires, Tapit's top sons at stud include Constitution , Tonalist , Tapiture , Essential Quality , Frosted and the promising young sire Tapwrit .
The brilliantly fast McKinzie will stand for $30,000 in his third year at stud, with the weanlings from his well-supported first book of mares on display at the 2022 fall mixed sales. Street Sense 's best son, McKinzie posted 11 triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures in a career that saw him win top-level races at 2, 3, and 4. Included in those grade 1 victories was an impressive 1/4 Ragozin in the 2019 Whitney Stakes (G1).
Joining him with first weanlings at this fall's breeding stock sales is Big Ass Fans Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner Spun to Run . Hailing from the influential Danzig sire line, Spun to Run showed remarkable speed during his 3-year-old campaign, collecting three consecutive triple-digit Beyers and five times ran a "0" on his Thoro-Graph chart. Spun to Run will stand for $10,000 in 2023.
A $1.2 million yearling, 2017 Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets (G1) winner Tapwrit's first foals will be 3-year-olds of 2023. His freshman crop of juveniles have posted wins around the globe, including maiden special weight winners at Monmouth Park, Keeneland, Colonial Downs, Delaware Park, and Lone Star Park. Tapwrit will stand for $10,000.
Breeders' Cup Mile (G1T) winner Karakontie , also standing for $10,000, has continued to establish himself as one of the best values in Central Kentucky. This year's runners have been led by Spendarella , winner of the Del Mar Oaks (G1T), Appalachian Stakes Presented by Japan Racing Association (G2T), and Herecomesthebride Stakes (G3T), along with a thrilling runner-up effort in the Coronation Stakes (G1) during the prestigious Royal Ascot meeting.
Raging Bull , a multiple grade 1-winning son of top international sire Dark Angel , will stand his second season at stud for $10,000.
A $1.6 million earner, Raging Bull proved to be a consistently talented racehorse who competed at the top of his division over four racing seasons. He made 18 consecutive graded stakes starts, winning or placing in nine of 14 grade 1 events, including victories in the Hollywood Derby (G1T), Shoemaker Mile Stakes (G1T), and Maker's Mark Mile Stakes (G1T).
Gainesway will add two new stallions to its roster for the 2023 breeding season, Olympiad and Drain the Clock .
Olympiad, a five-time graded stakes winner by Speightstown , has been one of North America's top older males of 2022, and he will make his next start in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Keeneland.
His year started with a track-record-setting performance over 1 1/16 miles in the Mineshaft Stakes (G3) at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, and his résumé expanded later in the year with headline-grabbing scores in the New Orleans Classic Stakes (G2), Stephen Foster Stakes (G2), Alysheba Stakes Presented by Sentient Jet (G2), and the Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1). He has earned triple-digit Beyers on seven occasions and won from seven furlongs to 1 1/4 miles.
Drain the Clock stood out as one of the top sprinters of his class, highlighted by his duel with champion sprinter Jackie's Warrior in the Woody Stephens Stakes Presented by Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (G1), where he prevailed by a neck and handed Jackie's Warrior his first defeat around one turn.
The son of Maclean's Music also picked up victories in the Swale Stakes (G3) and the Bay Shore Stakes (G3), and he showed precocity winning six of his first eight career starts. Drain the Clock will stand for $10,000.
