This season's Prix Imprudence (G3) winner Malavath will be offered to buyers during the first day of the Arqana Vente d'Elevage Saturday, Dec. 3, at Deauville together with the other exceptional fillies and mares already announced in Part I.
Placed in all five of her starts at 2, Malavath took the Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte (G2) over 1,200 meters at Chantilly before taking part in the prestigious Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1T) at Del Mar where she finished second.
This year, the Francis-Henri Graffard-trained filly won the Prix Imprudence on her comeback, beating the talented Zellie before finishing fourth in the Prix Rothschild (G1) this summer at Deauville. Running in the colors of Everest Racing, Barbara M. Keller, and David Redvers, she most recently finished runner-up in the Qatar Prix de la Foret Presente Par Education Above All (G1) at ParisLongchamp during the prestigious Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1) weekend, just behind the very talented Kinross , winner of the QIPCO British Champions Sprinter Stakes (G1) at Ascot since. She is scheduled to take part in the FanDuel Breeders' Cup Mile Presented by PDJF (G1T) to be run at Keeneland Nov. 5.
With a current rating of 112, the daughter of Mehmas is out of a sister to Ceisteach , a group winner and the dam of Steip Amach , a dual group winner and placed in the Darley Prix Jean Romanet (G1) and Prix Rothschild (G1). The blue-blooded filly hails from the family of group 1 scorers Shalanaya and Shergar . Her full brother Knight , unbeaten in two outings, including the Virgin Bet Horris Hill Stakes (G3) at Newbury, is one of the most exciting Classic prospects for next season in England.
Redvers purchased Malavath during the 2021 Arqana Deauville 2-year-old Breeze-Up Sale from Star Bloodstock for $169,743. Star Bloodstock initially purchased the filly as a pinhook for $38,766 from breeder Tally-Ho Stud at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale 2020.
The complete catalog for the Arqana Vente d'Elevage will be available Monday, Oct. 31.
The 2021 sale saw a 3-year-old filly by Territories, the grade/group 1 winner Rougir , command top honors after realizing €3,000,000 (US$3,393,044) from Oceanic Bloodstock, agent for White Birch Farm/M.V. Magnier. The Prix de l'Opera Longines (G1) scoring Rougir has moved stateside, adding a win in the Beaugay Stakes (G3T) and E. P. Taylor Stakes (G1T) to her CV with trainer Chad Brown.
