The Chad Brown brigade was out in full force on the Keeneland turf course the morning of Oct. 29. While all five Breeders' Cup contenders turned in maintenance-type moves in their final works before the Nov. 5 Championships, Regal Glory , working in company with stablemate Rougir , stole the show.

The three-time grade 1-winning Regal Glory, pre-entered in the FanDuel Breeders' Cup Mile Presented by PDJF (G1T), cruised along the outside of Maker's Mark Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1T) probable Rougir, reaching forward with long, effortless strides down the lane. The pair hit the wire together, clocking the half-mile in :49 4/5.

"With (Regal Glory) and Rougir, both horses running back in four weeks we didn't want to do too much with them," Brown said. "I thought Regal Glory worked really well. She's never been a very good work horse and that work was about as good of a work as you'll see from her. She's never going to be the one dragging the rider through the lane, she does what she needs to do. I like that she stayed right next to Rougir, who on the flip side, has always been a very good work horse."

Before Regal Glory and Rougir, the trio of Mile probable Domestic Spending  and Filly & Mare Turf contenders Virginia Joy  and In Italian  turned in works over the turf.

First Lady Stakes Presented by UK HealthCare (G1T) victress In Italian, working solo, went the four furlongs in :50 4/5 while Domestic Spending and Virginia Joy clocked five furlongs together in 1:02 3/5.

Domestic Spending galloped out particularly strong, opening up several lengths on Virginia Joy.

"He went super didn't he?" Chad remarked after the breeze.

"I'm confident I have (Domestic Spending) prepared to go in there and run a good race. I'm confident in his soundness and fitness... He looks better than I've ever seen him physically. He's really grown up. His gallop outs have been consistently strong the last few weeks here and he's gotten to know the Keeneland turf course.

"If he comes out of this well tomorrow, he'll be entered Monday."

Brown reported that he was still undecided whether Peter Brant's Virginia Joy, winner of the Flower Bowl Stakes (G2T) at the Belmont at the Big A fall meet last time out, would run in the Filly & Mare Turf.

"I'll speak to Mr. Brant about it tomorrow, she's such an in-betweener (distance wise)," Brown said. "I think the 1 3/8 miles she had in the Flower Bowl was her best distance. The 1 3/16 miles is a little sharp for her but to run against her own gender might be a little easier."

Also going for a spin Saturday morning on the turf was Bass Racing's Annapolis , who worked in company with Pilgrim Stakes (G2T) winner Major Dude , went a half-mile in :50 2/5.

"He was eager to go (today)," Pletcher said of Mile contender Annapolis, an impressive victor of the Coolmore Turf Mile Stakes (G1T) in his most recent outing. "He made a big move forward (in his race last time). He has a race over the course and seems to like it."

Major Dude, who Pletcher felt held his own against his older stablemate, will be entered in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1T) on Future Stars Friday.
