Fast and firm conditions will greet horseplayers when the second of two Breeders' Cup days begins. There are limited scratches from the Breeders' Cup races. Some were reported by BloodHorse yesterday, such as Laurel River and Bran .
The Classic is free of scratches. Based on will-pays of exotic wagers that began yesterday, Flightline was backed at odds equivalent to 2-5 odds or so, with Epicenter around 6-1, Life is Good at 8-1, and Taiba around 10-1. Everyone else would translate to 20-1 or higher.
Temperatures remain unseasonably warm, though there won't be as much sunshine. Clouds, wind, and a threat of rain will pick up in the afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, the greatest chance of rain will come after 4 p.m. ET, though rainfall is projected to be minimal if it falls—less than a tenth of an inch.
