

Hill 'n' Dale Farms at Xalapa's Good Magic , who is leading the North American freshman sire standings, will stand for $50,000 next year, the farm announced Nov. 6.
The son of Curlin has sired three black-type winners this year and is the only member of his sire class with a grade 1 winner, who is Champagne Stakes (G1) winner Blazing Sevens. Good Magic was represented at the Breeders' Cup World Championships by three starters: Blazing Sevens and Iroquois Stakes (G3) winner Curly Jack in the FanDuel Breeders' Cup Juvenile Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (G1), and Vegas Magic in the NetJets Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1).
Blazing Sevens finished fourth in the Juvenile, while Curly Jack was fifth. Vegas Magic finished 10th in the Juvenile Fillies.
Good Magic won the 2017 Breeders' Cup Juvenile on his way to earning honors as champion 2-year-old colt. At 3, he won the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G2) and was second in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1). He later prevailed in the betfair.com Haskell Invitational Stakes (G1).
Curlin was this year's leading stallion by number of Breeders' Cup winners as the sire of Malathaat in the Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1), Cody's Wish in the Big Ass Fans Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1), and Elite Power in the Qatar Racing Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1).
