Equibase issued the following statement Nov. 8 regarding the timing of the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) Nov. 5 at Keeneland:

"During the running of the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (Gr. 1) on November 5, 2022, at Keeneland, the timing eye for the three-quarter fraction was inadvertently tripped by an outrider as he was making his way to tend to pulled-up Epicenter  . A backup time of 1:09.62 was produced on race day for that fraction. As per Equibase policy, the fractional time underwent comprehensive video review to verify its accuracy. After this review, it was determined that the three-quarter fractional time for the Classic was 1:09.27. No other times were affected, including the final time of 2:00.05."

On the toteboard and simulcast feed, the initial six-furlong split in the Classic was published as 1:07.98, which would have represented an improbable :22.51 third quarter-mile. Life Is Good   led at the six-furlong call, with victorious Flightline   in hot pursuit.
